Employer Partners

Participating Employers

Our apprenticeships are made possible by partnerships established with behavioral health organizations across the state of Oregon. Our partners work diligently to provide high-quality care to their communities, clients, and employees. As part of their agreement with UWH, employer training agent partners are approved to offer supervised, on-the-job training to their employees throughout the employees’ time in the apprenticeship program.

Apprenticeship Consists of Two Parts:

Apprenticeships consist of On-the-Job Training (the paid work portion) and Related Training Instruction (the free education portion).

On-the-Job Training:

An employee works their normal schedule, paid for by the employer, while UWH works with the apprentice to log their hours and ensure they are meeting supervision requirements dictated by the appropriate credentialing body. UWH offers reimbursement for some of the costs of clinical supervision to the participating employer.

Related Training Instruction:

While working, UWH provides access to and pays for all educational courses and costs that align with the program objectives and career goals. Please see the program-specific page for specific instruction providers and curriculum details for that program.

Partner Expectations

Supervisors:

    • Sign off all apprentice hours once a month
    • Provide either two hours of direct 1:1 clinical supervision a month, or one hour of group supervision and one hour of 1:1 direct supervision
    • Meet with UWH Program Managers on a regular basis to discuss enrolled apprentices
    • Total estimated monthly commitment: 4 hours

Employers:

    • Leadership is expected to meet with UWH quarterly to discuss any updates, concerns, and strategies for strengthening the partnership
    • Assist UWH in recruitment efforts for upcoming cohorts
    • Communicate with UWH should anything arise, change, or need to be discussed
    • Total estimated monthly commitment: 30 minutes to 1 hour
