Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
Medical assistants are essential care workers who perform medical and clinical procedures as well as offer administrative support to medical offices.
The CCMA Apprenticeship program provides the opportunity to turn a GED or high school diploma into a certification to work in medical care. Apprentices who earn their certification will have the opportunity to advance their careers, increase their skills, and earning potential. To successfully complete the CCMA Apprenticeship and be eligible for graduation, apprentices must complete all coursework, on-the-job training hours, and pass the national exam to earn your credential.
Related Training Instruction
The classroom component of the CCMA Apprenticeship is delivered asynchronously through the US Career Institute (USCI).
Over 12 months, apprentices take a pre-established set of courses:
- Introduction to Medical Records
- Anatomy and Disease Processes
- Medical Ethics and Responsibilities
- Blood Testing
- Pharmacology
- …and more!
Coursework is online, completed on your own schedule and at your preferred pace. Previous relevant experience can also help you complete the certification process sooner.
These courses satisfy the requirements to sit for the National Healthcare Assocation (NHA) CCMA exam.
On-the-Job Training
While in the CCMA Apprenticeship, you will receive clinical supervision through on-the-job training from a journeyperson assigned by your employer. You will receive on-the-job training from CMA-certified colleagues. Certain positions/shifts may not be suitable for this activity, in which case, you may need to make some changes to your current role.
Costs
Participants in the apprenticeship program will not have any cost for the training. Along with receiving completely free education and paid training, individuals in the program also receive additional financial stipends and support based on individual need. The program also covers the cost for participants to prepare for and sit for the national medical assistant certification exam.

Our Programs
Our programs emphasize hands-on training through paid employment while participants learn new skills, achieve industry-recognized certifications, and advance their careers, while minimizing student debt.
Our programs are strategically designed to pave a path for folks who previously didn’t have opportunities/access to step into the healthcare workforce. This ensures that individuals who would not otherwise have had opportunities to advance into higher paid and licensed occupations can do so, and that this will positively impact the ability to provide care that resonates with clients needs.
